What is Pest Control VR?
A multiplayer VR game of hide and smash. One player is the Hunter, armed with a chancla, bug spray and mousetraps. Up to nine players are roaches who scurry, climb and glide around a giant kitchen to stay alive.
Which platforms is it on?
Meta Quest and SteamVR (PC VR), with crossplay: Quest and Steam players join the same matches. The game is not released yet.
How old do I have to be to play?
On Meta Quest, 10 or older. Players aged 10 to 12 get child protections (see the next question). On Steam, you must be 13 or older.
How does voice chat work for kids?
Players aged 10 to 12 never send or hear real voices. Their voice is replaced by roach sounds for everyone else, and they hear other players as roach sounds too. They also get a generated name instead of typing one. The game reads the age group from Meta at every launch; if it cannot be read, these protections apply.
Do I need an account?
No. The game signs you in silently with your Meta or Steam identity, so there is nothing to create or remember, and your name comes back after a reinstall.
Does the game track how long I play?
No. The game never measures or records how long anyone plays. Take breaks, drink some water, and look out of a window now and then. Even roaches sleep.
